TART Trails Announces Their Annual Mudgett Award Winner

Oct. 16, 2020

Carol and George Quarderer are the 2020 Jim Mudgett Trail Pioneer Award winners from TART Trails.

The award, given annually, honors those who give of their time, talent, and treasure to support TART Trails’ mission of enriching the Traverse region by providing a network of trails, bikeways and pedestrian ways; and encouraging their use.  Jim Mudgett was a founding board member of TART Trails whose vision of happy, active people enjoying a world-class trail system lives on through this award.

The Quarderers have played an integral role in recreation and transportation opportunities in Glen Arbor and have been paramount in the successful development of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, having been involved from the beginning in 2001.

The award is presented annually at TART Trails’ Oktoberfest celebration, a gathering of TART’s Sustainer’s Circle of donors. This year’s event took place over Zoom.
