A 27-year-old Traverse City man was arrested Friday after threatening relatives with a firearm and shooting the weapon inside their shared home.
The Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police responded to a Long Lake Township residence at 10:20am in response to a reported threat. The suspect, who lives at the residence, got into an argument with a 71-year-old woman and 69-year-old man who also live with him. The suspect threatened his relatives with a firearm, discharged the weapon multiple times inside the home, and then fled the scene.
The man was found driving in East Bay Township and taken into custody. He was taken to Munson Medical Center for medical clearance related to an injury he sustained several days earlier in a motorcycle accident. After he was cleared, he was taken to the Grand Traverse County Jail on two counts of felonious assault, felony firearm, discharge of a firearm in a dwelling, and domestic violence.
No one was injured during the incident.
