TC Man Arrested For Assault Behind Restaurant

Oct. 26, 2016

A 23-year-old Traverse City man was arrested Monday after threatening another man with a knife behind Rounds Restaurant.

Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the restaurant at 1:01pm after receiving a report of a man with a knife in the building's alley. When deputies approached him, the man ran away. After a short foot chase, the man resisted and fought with deputies. The deputies tasered the man and brought him into custody.

Deputies determined the suspect had threatened a 51-year-old Traverse City behind the restaurant. Charges were requested for felonious assault and resisting and obstructing police. The knife was located nearby and secured for evidence. No one was injured in the altercation.
