Teen Driver Arrested For Leaving Scene

By Patrick Sullivan | July 23, 2019

An 18-year-old Traverse City man was arrested after he drove away from a car crash.

The teenager was driving a Chevy Cobalt when he crashed with another car at the intersection of Front and Hope streets Saturday at 6:39pm. He drove off and a witness followed him and called police, Traverse City Police Capt. Jim Bussell says.

Officers pulled the teen over on Garfield Road and discovered he had no license. He was arrested for that offense, as well as for leaving the scene of a property damage cash.
