TVC Sets September Record

September was another record month for air travel at Cherry Capital Airport.
TVC saw 92,786 passengers come through airport turnstiles last month, setting a new travel record for the month. The monthly passenger count was up 8.3 percent from the September 2025 totals, and pushed the passenger total for the year to 768,173. That’s a 1.1 percent increase from last year’s record and keeps the airport on pace to exceed 1 million annual passengers for the first time in its history.
Cherry Capital CEO Kevin Klein says the September passenger count was similar to travel totals the airport typically sees in peak summer travel months.
“To have this in September is amazing,” Klein told the Northwest Regional Airport Authority Board this week.
United Airlines, TVC’s busiest air carrier, handled more than 44 percent of the monthly passenger load with just over 41,000 enplaning and deplaning passengers. American Airlines was next with more than 28,000 travelers, while Delta Airlines saw around 22,000 travelers.
Other activity numbers at the airport were also up for the month, Klein reported. Fuel sales for the month soared nearly 33 percent from last September to just over 642,000 gallons, putting total fuel sales at just under 5 million gallons which is on pace with last year.. Cargo movement through TVC was also up 35 percent from last September to just over 199,000 pounds. Year-to-date totals reached just under 1.5 million pounds of cargo, running almost 15 percent of last year’s numbers.
The airport’s tower count – which tracks all flight activity at TVC – was up 5.5 percent from last September to 65,236.
