Twelfth Street Repaving Starts Monday in TC

By Beth Milligan | Aug. 9, 2024

Team Elmer's will start a resurfacing project on West Twelfth Street between South Division Street and South Union Street Monday on behalf of the City of Traverse City.

Workers will mill the existing pavement, adjust catch basins and manhole covers, and overlay the street with asphalt. West Twelfth Street will be closed to all through traffic. The intersections at South Maple, South Oak, Wadsworth, and Locust streets will be closed. The intersections of West Twelfth/Pine streets and West Twelfth/South Union streets will remain open to north-south traffic. Drivers are advised to use West Eleventh Street or West Thirteenth Street for east-west travel in the area.

Work is expected to be substantially complete by August 26, weather permitting.
