By Beth Milligan | Feb. 12, 2020

Authorities acting on a tip recently arrested two alleged methamphetamine dealers in Garfield Township, the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

The Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Team received information Thursday that a 37-year-old South Boardman man would be dealing meth in an area in Garfield Township. Information gathered indicated the suspect would be with another South Boardman man, 56 years old, who had a suspended driver's license and an outstanding warrant for a misdemeanor charge.

The Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by the 56-year-old man on M-72 in Whitewater Township. The 37-year-old man was a passenger in the vehicle. Kalo, the newest K-9 officer in the Sheriff's Office, conducted a search of the vehicle and located two packages containing suspected meth and suspected Suboxone.

The older man was arrested for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, driving with a suspended license, and having a misdemeanor warrant. The younger suspect was arrested for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
