Zonta Club To Host Free "Suffragette" Screening

Feb. 13, 2016

The Zonta Club of Leelanau will host a free screening of "Suffragette" at The Bay Theatre in Suttons Bay on Sunday, February 21 at 1pm.

The movie - starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep - chronicles the early twentieth century efforts to grant voting rights to women in Great Britain. Zonta will use the film as an introduction to its club, which was founded in 1988 and focuses on "improving the status of women and girls in Leelanau County by creating an organization for business and professional women to interact and network."

Movie attendees interested in learning more about or joining Zonta are invited to Martha's Leelanau Table following the film to learn about membership opportunities. The event is sponsored by Bill Marsh Auto and FIM Group.
