Authorities Investigating Kingsley Road Rage Incident

Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a possible road rage incident Wedneday in Kingsley.

A caller contacted 911 at 1:43pm to report the incident. According to the caller, an approximately 20-year-old male driver in a mid-2000s white sedan was tailgating, swerving on the road, and displaying hand gestures near Summit City Road and Sparling Road in Paradise Township. The caller stated that when he turned around and drove his car in the opposite direction of the suspect's vehicle, the driver pointed a handgun out the window up into the air and fired three shots.

The suspect's vehicle was last seen heading east on Sparling Road. Deputies checked the area for additional witnesses and evidence of the discharged weapon and conducted an in-depth interview with the caller. Deputies also searched the village of Kingsley for the sedan. While the Sheriff's Office believes the case was an isolated incident, anyone with information is asked to contact the department at 231-922- 4550.
