Changes Coming To The Ticker

April 16, 2019

Two changes will be coming to The Ticker this spring, both thanks to your feedback and requests.

Our Ticker comments section remains a popular feature; yet some have had issues posting comments, others no longer use Facebook, and a few Ticker readers have posted offensive or inappropriate comments. So this May, we’ll be implementing some major changes to our comments section: We’ll switch commenting platforms from Facebook to Disqus, which is already utilized by ABC News and thousands of other news and blog sites worldwide. We’ll also more strictly moderate user comments and ban users who continually abuse the section or register and post under “fake” names. We’re really excited about these changes and we hope they’ll make The Ticker an even better conduit for community conversations.

We’re also expanding: For years, The Ticker has published original content Monday-Saturday, with a digest of the previous days’ stories on Sunday. Starting in June, we’ll expand to publish original content all seven days. Thanks to our loyal readers and fantastic advertisers, we continue to grow; expanding to seven days is the next logical step.

Thank you again for being a Ticker reader!
