Coldwell Banker Schmidt Expands into Florida

Feb. 26, 2013

Company officials announce that Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors (CBSR) of Traverse City has merged operations with Coldwell Banker Sunstar Realty and Coldwell Banker Morris Realty of Englewood, Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda, Fla. (Sunstar/Morris).

"Sunstar/Morris is a successful company we're proud to have on board," says Ken Schmidt, CEO of CBSR. Dan Randolph, broker and local president, will remain at the helm of the Florida offices.

The merger brings the number of CBSR sales associates and support staff to 800-plus and combined annual sales of more than $1.5 billion.

According to CBSR, Michigan is the top feeder market in the nation for 2nd homes in the Florida market, second only to Canada globally. "Agents will have a natural pipeline between the two markets enabling them to assist their clients in finding the perfect second or retirement homes," adds CBSR President Mike Schmidt.
