Moomers Named Best Ice Cream Parlor In USA Today Poll

Traverse City's Moomers Homemade Ice Cream has been named Best Ice Cream Parlor in the country in a new USA Today poll.

The national publication asked readers to vote for four weeks on a pool of 20 nominees culled by food and travel experts. Moomers - which was the only Michigan ice cream parlor to crack the Top 10 - came in at number one.

"The kitchen at Moomers Homemade Ice Cream in Traverse City makes more than 160 different flavors of ice cream – 20 are available daily," wrote USA Today. "There's often a line outside for a scoop or other menu item, all of which can be made with any flavor. Options include apple crisp, banana bread, lemon poppy seed muffin and Oreo cheesecake."

Moomers was previously named to Fodor's list of America's Best Ice Cream Shops in 2014 and was selected as America's Best Scoop on Good Morning America in 2008.
