Oak Street Construction Starts Monday

By Beth Milligan | April 10, 2026

City contractors will close South Oak Street between Seventh Street and West Thirteenth Street starting Monday for a mill-and-fill project expected to last a few weeks.

South Oak Street will be closed to all through traffic in the work zone. The intersections at Seventh, Eighth, Twelfth, and Thirteenth streets will remain open for east/west access. Drivers are advised to use South Maple Street or Wadsworth Street for north/south travel in the area. Sidewalks will be temporarily closed at Seventh, Eighth, and Tenth streets as curb ramps are replaced to improve ADA accessibility.

The project is anticipated to be completed on May 1.
