TC Coast Guard Crew Evacuates Two From Beaver Island

March 20, 2017

A Coast Guard aircrew from Traverse City medically evacuated two people from Beaver Island Saturday.

The Coast Guard received the medevac request from Beaver Island officials early Friday evening, but was forced to delay its response due to poor visibility and icing conditions. Conditions improved by late Saturday morning, at which point an Air Station Traverse City MH-65 Dolphin helicopter launched to medevac two people suffering from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle car crash.

The patients were safely transported to Air Station Traverse City, where awaiting ambulances took them to Munson Medical Center for treatment.
