Teenage Suspect Arrested in Garfield Township Home Invasions

A 16-year-old is in custody as the suspect in a series of home invasions in Garfield Township. 

According to the Sheriff's Office, detectives assisted by the Traverse City Police Department and Sheriff's Office patrol division conducted a search warrant at a Traverse City apartment in connection with the case. Stolen property associated with the home invasions, which occurred on Tuesday, were recovered from the property.

A 16-year-old was taken into custody on unrelated charges. However, charges will be requested from the prosecutor's office for the home invasions against the teenager as the suspect, the Sheriff's Office tells The Ticker. A 43-year-old Traverse City woman was also taken into custody for an outstanding felony shoplifting warrant.
