New Leader At Interlochen Public Radio

Jan. 7, 2015

Interlochen Public Radio (IPR) has a new leader. Sally Eisele, a 30-plus-year veteran of the radio industry, has been named general manager for IPR News Radio and IPR Classical. She follows former General Manager Thom Paulson, who left the station in the fall. Eisele's first day on the job will be February 16.

Most recently Eisele was the managing editor of WBEZ in Chicago, where she was integral in its transformation to Chicago Public Media, a multi-platform media organization that uses digital channels to attract new audiences while still serving the station's traditional listener base.

Interlochen President Jeffrey Kimpton says Eisele's background in the rapidly changing media landscape made her uniquely qualified to lead IPR and its vision to enhance its digital content.

As an amateur musician who has spent many vacations in northern Michigan, Eisele says IPR is a great opportunity.

"To return to this place that I have always loved, and to do so for IPR, is a chance of a lifetime and a great privilege," Eisele says.
