Thirsty Fish Sports Grille to Close November 29

Thirsty Fish Sports Grille will close its doors on November 29 at 221 East State Street, ending a six-year run for owners Christina and Rick Thompson.
The business posted on Facebook that the announcement was "very difficult to make" and invited customers to "please continue to come in for the rest of this month and enjoy the staff, food, drinks, trivia, karaoke, football, and anything else we have provided to make your days better. If you know of anyone in need of or wanting kitchen equipment, memorabilia, or anything else within the walls of Thirsty Fish, please spread the word."
The company also thanked Taqueria TC Latino "for a great final summer/fall season, adding great authentic Mexican dishes to our menu." In response to a commenter asking why Thirsty Fish is closing, the business account replied: "We are no longer in a lease, and I believe there are other plans for the building. Not owning the building leaves some of your success in others’ hands. There are a lot of underlying reasons, but that’s the biggest."
The Thompsons took over Thirsty Fish Sports Grille in 2020. Their other business, Union Street Station, closed in February amid a legal battle with building owner Bob Guyot. The liquor license for Union Street Station is in the process of being transferred to Sparky's Diner/Taqueria TC Latino on South Airport Road in Garfield Township.
