Wicksall Distributors Set To Be Sold

One of the largest and oldest local alcohol distributors is set to be sold, The Ticker has learned. Wicksall Distributors, family owned since 1949, will be purchased by Great Lakes Wine & Spirits. The announcement is expected today (Tuesday). 

Majority Owner Pat Wicksall will retire from the company that employs 60 and services some 600 retailers throughout northern Michigan. 

Great Lakes already has dozens of employees in the region and is Michigan’s largest wine, liquor and beer distributor. With 900 employees and eight facilities across the state, the company services almost 17,000 accounts in all 83 Michigan counties on both peninsulas.
