Three local individuals were arrested during a drug bust that occurred following a recent traffic stop on South Airport Road.

Michigan State Police troopers stopped a vehicle for a moving violation on March 12 at 4:20pm. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver, 48-year-old April Grose of Traverse City, was in possession of methamphetamine. The troopers’ investigation led to the execution of multiple search warrants, resulting in the seizure of more than a half pound of suspected methamphetamine, four grams of heroin, and two additional arrests.

The two additional suspects were 62-year-old Gary Gustafson of Grawn and 54-year-old Hope Sowers of Fife Lake. Grose was arraigned in 86th District Court in Grand Traverse County on March 17 on one count of controlled substance/possession of methamphetamine. Gustafson and Sowers were arraigned on March 17 on one count each of controlled substance/delivery-manufacture of methamphetamine. Another court appearance is scheduled for March 31 at 2pm.

MSP troopers were assisted by the Seventh District Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division and Michigan Department of Corrections.
